Το Ποντιακό καταγράφεται πλέον ως ένα όχι μόνο εθνικό, Ελλαδικό, αλλά ένα διεθνές και κύρια Ευρωπαϊκό ζήτημα. Οι διαδικασίες ένταξης της Ανατολίας στην Ε.Ε. αλλά και το αίτημα της ιστορίας για σχέσεις αρμονίας ανάμεσα στους λαούς, τα έθνη, τις θρησκείες, τους πολιτισμούς, επαναφέρει το Ποντιακό ζήτημα όχι μόνον ως ζήτημα του παρελθόντος αλλά του μέλλοντος. Ένα ζήτημα του 21ου αιώνα...
Το πρώτο πεδίο είναι το Πολιτισμικό, το Μορφωτικό. Λέγεται λανθασμένα ότι πρέπει να εξευρωπαϊστεί η Ανατολία, η Μικρά Ασία. Αυτό είναι λάθος. Το αληθινό ζήτημα είναι η επιστροφή, η αναγέννηση των προϋπαρχουσών ευρωπαϊκών ψηφίδων της Μικράς Ασίας, που πολιτικές βίας και ρατσισμού εξόντωσαν, σκέπασαν. Μια τέτοια πολιτισμική ευρωπαϊκή ψηφίδα είναι ο Πόντος. Όπως είναι το Πατριαρχείο της Κωνσταντινούπολης.

The first nivel is Cultural. It is mistakenly said that Anatolia, Asia Minor must be Europeanized. This is a mistake. The real issue is the return, the restoration, the revival of the pre-existing European tesseras of Asia Minor, that the policies of violence and racism have annihilated, concealed. Pontos is such a cultural European tessera, as is the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople.
