Ομιλία Χαϊδάρι 1990
Αυτοί που με διάφορους τρόπους αμφισβητούν
την 19η Μαΐου ως ημέρα μνήμης της γενοκτονίας των Ποντίων και ως
διεθνή ημέρα μνήμης όλων των θυμάτων του κεμαλισμού, ζητώντας την αντικατάστασή
της είτε περιορίζοντάς την σε απλή ημέρα μνήμης, ημέρα ψυχικού μνημοσύνου, είτε
αποδίδοντας ψηφοθηρικά κίνητρα σ΄ αυτούς που την καθιέρωσαν σε περίοδο σιδήρου
και την υπεράσπισαν όταν επεδίωξαν συστηματικά να την καταργήσουν, είτε είναι
ηλίθιοι (έχει πολλούς), είτε πλεγματικοί, είτε υπάλληλοι, είτε προβοκάτορες,
είτε πράκτορες εξωελληνικών μηχανισμών.
Δεν νομίζω όμως ότι πρέπει κανείς να
ασχολείται με τα παράσιτα της ιστορίας.

POLISH POPE JOHN
THE ABSENCE OF
APOLOGY FROM THE TURKISH ISLAM
A text of mine
from 1993, titled "1204-2004: the Eighth Centennial"* brought about
the apology of the Polish Pope John for the destruction and spoliation of
Constantinople by the crusaders; that was during his meeting with Archbishop
Christodoulos. It was a historic moment without taking advantage of it.
But we did not
suffer only the crusades. We also faced the barbarity, the peculiarity of
Turkish Islam. Its destructive and genocidal tasks. An updated human future of
the region from Evros to Euphrates demands the public and sincere apology of
the peculiar Turkish Islam, its kemalist-Islamic transformation.
This is a
liberating humanitarian field of gathering and struggle for all spiritual
people regardless of nationality and religion. This is the sphere of the
humanitarian protagonist of ours.
